Edition EKTAlux offers an evolving curated selection of collectable art photography in strictly limited editions, while working closely with each artist to guarantee state-of-the-art museum level print and framing quality.
Edition EKTAlux was established with the desire to bridge the gap between high end art world and overexposed mass market artwork.
The gallery was founded in 2014 by curator Julia Spiess, with the purpose of promoting the work of contemporary artists, with an emphasis on European photographers.
Majoring in art history at the University of Cologne in the early 90s, Julia witnessed the rise of German art photography, synonymous with members of the Düsseldorf School of Photography (Candida Höfer, Andreas Gursky, Thomas Struth, Thomas Ruff among others) and other contemporary European photography artists, closely following the trajectory of artist careers from their earliest bodies of work.
Looking back at 28+ years working in photography, Julia developed a keen eye for bold visuals and striking images - igniting a lifetime passion for contemporary photography.
